Hello, my name is Babette and I am the one behind the camera. I'm a photographer, whose eye for capturing moments and scenery became my passion.
I've been dabbling with photography since college at Saint Francis University in 2004 as I studied to be a graphic artist. One of my courses was SLR Photography and I enjoyed manually working a camera and developing my own photos in a dark room. Since then I have been drawn to being behind a camera and giving others a peek at what I see through the viewfinder. Recently, I went back to college to finish my degree in Digital Photography at Southern New Hampshire University.
I'm a wife, mother, sister, and daughter, whose life was turned upside down in 2012 with the loss of one of my younger sister's Michelle. Michelle also loved photography ~ she nudged me to follow my passion and was my inspiration to begin Jubileez Portraits.
A year prior to losing Michelle I started offering my family and friends random sessions to build my confidence and self-taught experience in taking digital photos. Never in a million years would I know that the photo-shoot I did for her would be my last of Michelle. I cherish them and understand the meaning behind, a photograph. I believe it's capturing more than the subject, its capturing a memory. Since then I have been taking my camera almost everywhere, on vacations, to work, or even random nights out. Literally every second there is the potential to capture a memory.
So now you know a bit about the person behind the camera, take a moment to check out what moments I have captured. See you all on the other side of the lens!
